PermalinkI talk about my time in Japan. ...and being trans, somehow.
I’m back again! Would you look at that, only took a month or so this time.
This time I’m reporting very-not-live from the inside of an airplane. I don’t have any internet here for obvious reasons, so might as well write a blog post.
In case you’re wondering, i visited japan! As for why i made absolutely no blog posts about that, i pretty much just feel asleep instantly anytime i got back to my room, so there wasn’t exactly enough time…
Whatever, i won’t bore you with the details! I will spill some juicy info about my vacation, though.
This time i went there to… Actually learn Japanese.
Crazy idea i know, learning the language of the country you wanna visit.
Anyways, it was fun! I won’t tell ya what place i went to for that because i like to at least somewhat maintain my privacy online. Not much blogpost-worthy stuff there anyways.
Let’s get to the interesting parts! I had a bunch of nice food, bought a quite frankly embarassing amount of plushies and wore a yukata.
No pics here, but trust me, i looked real pretty.
The host family i stayed with was really nice until they revealed that they don’t like ‘the lgbtq’ on the second to last day i was staying there. So… Uh… Fun times.
I didn’t comment on it much because i didn’t really feel like ruining my vacation. Luckily they didn’t say much beyond that.
They seemed less so hateful and moreso just very misinformed. Still, not an excuse.
…why does every one of these posts end up with me talking about lgbtq people getting discriminated? Uh… Anyways. This a fun vacation post! Yaaaaaaaaay.
Can’t you feel the excitement?!
Anyways, there was another guy i was staying with that was also going to the language school.
Cool dude, but he kind of started getting on the host familys nerves near the end of my stay. Guy never showed up to dinner and his room was just kind of a mess.
He’s still staying there, so i wonder how that ends up turning out…
I’m very glad to finally get back to Germany now. As fun as Japan can be, i do always end up feeling just a tad homesick after a while.
Was a lot worse last time i went though because i basically subsisted entirely on konbini sandwiches.
Pro Tip! Dont do that. I ended up feeling like shit for like half the trip and got pretty depressed.
Partly that was just the fault of me not having my own hotel room and never being able to go out on my own cause i was afraid of getting lost.
Anyways, point stands, don’t exclusively eat convenience store sandwiches, you will end up hating yourself.
If there’s one thing you take away from this post, let it be that.
Actually, hating lgbtq people being a bad thing is probably closer to the top of that list.
Trans rights, everyone!
That’ll be it for today, ill cya next year because fucking hell, it always takes ages for me to get motivated to make one of these posts.
